Language Center

Badr University Language Center (BULC) aims at providing Badr University students with the opportunity to improve their English language to a minimum of B1+ level through the provision of English courses. Our courses provide our students with the opportunity to work on the four skills of their English language (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) in a supporting learning environment.

Program Description:

The English program at Badr University Language Center (BULC) aims at allowing students to improve their English language use in a variety of contexts. The program focuses on the four language skills – Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing – and offers an opportunity to build vocabulary and enhance strategic competence. Whether starting from the beginning or improving existing skills, our students are guided into the language acquisition process by a team of well-trained language instructors. The program meets a myriad of linguistic needs and covers a variety of authentic language functions.

Our student-centered program aims at enabling the students to converse and communicate effectively and confidently in a range of authentic settings and lays special emphasis on enhancing and developing a professional level of writing within academic as well as professional contexts.

Classes of the Language Center are held once a week. Each class is 2 hours to ensure depth of understanding and time with the curriculum to achieve success.

The structure of the English Language Program is in alignment with the universally recognized Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

The Center offers 11 30-hr levels of General English courses as follows:

BULC meets its students’ needs through incorporating a communicative, learner-centered approach that aims at enhancing the learning process through the adoption of a myriad of methodologies such as task-based learning, role playing and collaborative learning.
