CAIRO – 21 February 2019: The honorary president of the Korean Egyptian Development Association (KEDA)said the cooperation with Egypt aims at making the latter a scientific industrial base in the Arab and African region.
He added that Egypt may become a center to export South Korean products to Arab and African states.
This came during his visit to Cairo heading a delegation of representatives of major Korean companies, during which he met with Chairman of Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Abdel Moneim al-Tarras.
KEDA president expressed appreciation of the cooperation with the AOI, describing it as a pioneering step for Egypt and the African region and stressing that Egypt is the key to Africa.
In this regard, he congratulated Egypt on the assumption of the presidency of the African Union for 2019.
The Korean official predicted that Egypt would become great after undergoing current reforms, saying that the North African country is moving steadily to take position among the Group of Seven that has the largest IMF-described advanced economies in the world.
He added that Egypt’s vision 2030 under the leadership of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will turn Egypt into a superpower.
For his part, the chairman of the AOI stressed the importance of benefiting from the Korean experience and creating real investment opportunities in many modern industrial fields.
Cooperation with Korean companies includes exchange of expertise, technical information, training, and transferring and localizing modern technology in various industrial fields, Tarras said.
The AOI head said he agreed with the Korean side to form a joint technical committee to promote joint cooperation in a scientific way, and to study aspects of cooperation in renewable energy, electronics, energy, transportation and a number of industrial fields.
CAIRO, Jan 21 (MENA) – Secretary of the Parliament Foreign Relations Committee Tarek el Kholy called for boosting cooperation between Cairo and Seoul to restore the Korean tourism movement to Egypt.
