A Visit to The Egyptian Geological Museum

There are a variety of places that acquire a specific character and are held for specific goals, and museums are one of the most prominent of these places, under the patronage of the President of Badr University in Cairo (BUC) as well as the Dean of School of Veterinary Medicine. The Egyptian Geological Museum received 22 students from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Badr University in Cairo under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Abdo Ibrahim Assistant Professor of Anatomy and Embryology, and Dr. Ahmed Hamed Arisha, Lecturer of Physiology at the College. The museum’s trustees introduced the students to the museum’s goals, vision, mission, and various activities, as it is the first of its kind in the Middle East, Arab and African world. The museum includes fossils of vertebrate and mammalian animals collected hundreds of years ago and a collection of precious stones and rare minerals. The museum has many vertebrate fossils as well as a complete whale skeleton.
